Portable Autoclaves
The Dixons range of portable autoclaves has been manufactured for over forty
years under various brand names. They have been known over the years as
'Express' autoclaves, 'The Arnolds Autoclave',
'The Portable Autoclave', 'The HM&S Autoclave' and 'The Macarthy Autoclave'.
These autoclaves were previously manufactured by Arnold & Sons, Basildon
(owned by the McCarthy Group). Dixons have been exclusively manufacturing
the range since 1990. They are designed for safety and reliability; yet are
simple to use and easy to maintain.
During the past forty years, many thousands have been distributed worldwide,
to a wide variety of users. They have become known for both their durability
and reliability.
The range comprises of several styles:
- Gas Heated - Externally heated, require a gas burner or hot plate
- Thermostatic - Electrically heated, thermostatic control models
- VARIO Control - Electrically heated, VARIO time and temperature control models
These are available in several sizes and materials:
- 14 litre Aluminium models
- 22 litre Stainless Steel models
- 30 litre Stainless Steel models
These models require no sophisticated installation. Simply add water,
plug in the mains (where applicable) and the machine is ready for use.
Nothing could be more simple. All the models are fully portable.
All models require minimal maintenance and have a reputation for giving
well beyond 20 years of service. All applicable models now carry the
CE mark in compliance with the Electromagnetic Compatibility Regulations
1992 and comply with both BS3456 part 101 1987, for electrical safety,
and H&SE PM73, for lid locking devices.
